Well Yeah unfortunately all my Blue Rams seems to be males ! They are fighting with each other here and there. Or they might be 4 females. They don't have much colors so its pretty hard to guess which gender these Blue Rams are belong to. Only distinction is golden color belles which don't help a lot.
There are many signs and Methods to sex Blue Rams but none of them are 100% effective.
- Females have a more of a rounded tail and the male has a 'V' shape with 'sharp' corners on them.
- Males dorsal and anal fins at the back are more pointed then the females.
- Females have more red on their belly compared to the males.
- Males have a elongated 2nd ray in the dorsal fin.
- The ovispitor or "egg-tube" on the females, the little white tubey thing in their vent area.
- Females have pink belly ???
Well I need to find out what mine are !
