If you want to have a peaceful Aquarium at your home then don't even look at Mbuna fish. Any of them. Kenyi Cichlid, Auratus or any of those Lake Malawi fish. These guys are super beautiful but Ultra Aggressive ! Fighting and killing each other are everything for them. They love it !
The Kenyi Cichlid easily adapts to prepared foods and will eat pretty much anything. Also always keep them in group of their own fish. Never keep them with other fish. I had even jewells who got bullied by these little buggers. Keep a group of one male and several females which would make life little peaceful for you than having 2 or more mbuna males in same tank
If you really want to have them then you need to create a full Mbuna or Lake Malawi tank. Bigger the better.A larger aquarium of mixed Mbunas is the only way to go. There should be lot of caves and hiding places so after daily fights loosers can go and hide. They are hardy fish which seldom go down with illnesses but they need clean water. good air pump and filter would be best for them.
